The opportunity
You have the chance to join a global team and be responsible for the planning, coordination and management of international assignments. You will guide and provide relevant advice to your stakeholders on all mobility related activities, pull together stakeholders and colleagues across the Mobility ecosystem in order to successfully manage the end to end lifecycle of the program assignments.
Your key responsibilities
The position will work with business leaders and assignees (at all levels) to plan, coordinate and manage end-to-end international mobility assignments into and out of the region. You will guide and provide relevant advice to your business stakeholders and assignees to ensure consistent exceptional assignee experiences with intentional outcomes.
Service Delivery
- Work with home/host Mobility Consultants to manage all phases of in-bound and out-bound assignments (e.g. pre-assignment, on-assignment, repatriation and post-assignment)
- Manage intake of mobility requests from stakeholders in the Region (where required). Understand business and/or assignee requirements.
- Become the primary point of contact for one or more service lines in your Region (as directed by your Regional Team Lead). Apply an understanding of business needs to identify critical outcomes, barriers to success, and changes in expectations or scope
- Partner with home/host Mobility Consultants to develop appropriate assignment package.
- Manage high complexity mobility assignments and VIP moves inbound/outbound for your Region.
- Ensure the appropriate and timely approval of mobility assignments.
- Understand the business case to map the appropriate relocation package, prepare cost estimates and manage the preparation of assignment contract/s. working with relevant tools and partners (e.g. GMT, Talent Shared Services and Finance)
- Ensure letters of assignment and all relevant assignment documentation are prepared efficiently and effectively, working with relevant partners (e.g. Talent Shared Services and Finance where available).
- Consult on and administer the application of Modular Mobility Framework to determine assignment category selection, policy benefits, compensation decisions and exception process. Educate stakeholders on their responsibilities in the process and send periodic reminders, as required
- Understand the business case to map the appropriate relocation package, prepare cost estimates and manage the preparation of assignment contract/s. working with relevant tools and partners (e.g. GMT, Talent Shared Services and Finance)
- Escalate issues with the Regional Lead in the first instance. (Further escalation to Account Management, AS leadership, Talent Management, Partnerships, etc. when required).
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders from the business (e.g. HRBP, Resourcing teams, Service Line Operation Leads, People Partners etc.) to assist with delivery of Mobility programs and placements
- Initiate RMC to deliver relocation services according to assignment approved benefit package (when deployed in )
- Manage relocation services assigned to RMC to maintain consistent and exceptional service delivery as well as manage exceptions and issues for resolution
- Partner with GDS / PAS and other supplier networks to initiate and deliver approved assignment services maintaining a consistent and exception service delivery as well manage exceptions and issues for resolution.
- Ensure the assignment initiation and assignment briefing to the assignee is robust, so the assignee adopts the right mindset and understands the critical milestones, legislation & documentation to be completed
- Action all major on-assignment events for assignees (e.g. salary review, payroll cut-off dates, annual allowance reviews) to help ensure an exceptional assignee experience
- Be proactive with assignees, maintaining frequent communication to ensure their assignment is progressing as planned and to resolve issues.
- Be proactive with the business, ensuring updates on assignment progress.
- Ensure assignment is compliant from risk, tax and immigration perspective working with compliance experts as appropriate.
- Partner with Finance to process external and internal invoicing where applicable.
- Maintain data and information in GMT accurately to enable efficient and accurate reporting (PE)
- Adhere to and demonstrate the AS Norms and Behaviors (PE)
- Apply ‘one team’ mindset to daily practice and interactions (PE)
- Read and apply new knowledge from Mobility communications, i.e., Team Digest, MyGMT updates etc. as well as DNA’s and area and global EY communications (PE)
- Fully engage in global and regional team calls, SL calls, etc. (PE)
- Attend learning opportunities, i.e. Open House, Family Counseling meetings, etc. (PE)
- Assist in the development of others by providing feedback and recognizing accomplishments
- Work independently to manage the administration of international mobility assignments, raising issues for resolution where required
- Maintain professional client and supplier relationships at all times
- Work independently to understand the client requirements and to correctly apply the relevant (assignment policies, expatriate cost, etc.) principles to address business needs
Skills and attributes for success
- 2+ years relevant experience
- Significant knowledge and experience of international mobility, policies, processes and systems
- General knowledge of generalist HR – recruitment and selection, career management, performance reviews, termination, remuneration, induction, employee relations etc.
- Good understanding of Tax and Immigration legislation, as well as relevant employment law
- Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels including the Service Line leaders, Talent Team, Tax and Immigration team, as well as external partners and vendors
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize objectives and manage all aspects of your role
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and analytical skills
- Ability to use a Global Mobility Technology tool as well as other relevant HR systems and knowledge tools
- Knowledge and demonstration of Highest Performing Teams
- Strong understanding of Tax and Immigration legislation, as well as relevant employment law and other business or economic forces
- Maintain and use (when appropriate) a network of contacts in other EY practices/departments
Other Requirements:
- Due to global nature of the role; travel and willingness to work alternative hours will be required
- Role is located in Birmingham with 2 days a week on site presence required
Ideally, you’ll also have
Education:
Educated to degree level is preferred, not required
Certification Requirements:
- Professional certifications and/or masters studies in a related discipline is preferred, not required
- Active membership to related professional bodies or industry groups is preferred, not required
