If you’d love to work for a well-known Welsh cancer charity with a great reputation and want to boost your current HR experience and career options we’d love to hear from you.
Covering a secondment in a well-established HR team this is a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with managers and staff when it comes to proactively providing HR advice in a true consultant way of working. Our HR & Volunteer Manager recommends the HR opportunity because…
“I’ve loved developing my HR career over the last 10 years here at Tenovus Cancer Care. Working my way up to influence and support colleagues at all levels has really challenged me. The way HR sits in the business here alongside my expert colleagues has helped me grow as a CIPD professional member in a place where HR impacts at a strategic level”
As a HR stand-alone professional, you can expect to be doing a lot of supporting and advising Line Managers on day-to-day issues around performance and absence management as well as influencing in a credible way. We’re people focused so making our policies and procedures easily understood and relatable is hugely important to doing the job well as is the follow up admin.
Your interpersonal skills will be your shining quality in this job as you’ll be good at listening and coming up with workable solutions whilst managing our risk level. You’ll know when to challenge appropriately as a HR professional and easily interpret employment law within the context of our day-to-day workplace situations.
We’ve HR systems in place so you’ll be using these for data and processes as well as drafting your own letters and attending HR meetings when it comes to Employee Relations. We’re also focused on EDI as a big piece of work so there may also be opportunities to get involved in this work and other team projects supporting our People Strategy.
What you'll need to succeed
We’d love to get your application if you’ve had similar experience of working in a HR job already providing quality advice and support to managers and staff. Although CIPD qualified candidates are welcomed we really value the importance of a decent level of practical HR experience in the workplace too. So, even if you don’t have the qualification, we’d be keen to hear from you if you’re already advising in HR, be proud to join our cause and enhance your CV.
To be considered your CV should demonstrate you match our Person Specification requirements in:
- Being able to coach managers expertly when it comes to HR matters
- Provide solid and compliant HR advice through relevant experience
- Doing the same or a similar role where your Employment Law knowledge is up to date
- Have been practically involved in Employee Relations processes and procedures in a work environment from a HR perspective
