Role Summary

We are looking for an HR Advisor to innovate, win and grow with us in Theale, UK!

The purpose of this role is to partner with the Business Partners in an advisory capacity and manage all employee relations matters across Bottomline (EMEA & APAC). Handling cases with sensitivity and pragmatism to maintain a commercial focus, while ensuring strong support for all team members is an essential part of this role. This role is accountable for legal compliance including any mitigation against any potential employment risks and providing advice upon commercial solutions. Further accountabilities involve business change projects such as organisational design restructures, redundancies and mergers and acquisitions including TUPE transfers.

How you'll contribute:

  • Developing a progressive approach to managing employee relations
  • End to end case management
    • Probation
    • Sickness absence
    • Performance improvement
    • Disciplinaries & grievances
    • Collective and individual consultation processes
  • Providing advice, support and guidance to all levels of the organisation
  • Building collateral to support ER activity e.g. letter templates and process flows
  • Upskilling people managers to improve capability including facilitating training and development sessions
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders including Legal, HR, TA, Finance and others as required
  • External liaison and engagement with relevant providers such as Occupational Health and ACAS
  • Undertaking and implementing due diligence for people changes
  • Risk evaluation to ensure cases are handled appropriately for all parties
  • Accurate and timely record keeping and reporting on ER metrics
  • Supporting Business Partners with planning and implementation of organisational changes addressing the commercial and people impact
  • Ad-hoc project management

What will make you successful:

  • Deep understanding and experience with a wide range of ER cases
  • Good knowledge of employment law in Europe (particularly UK and Switzerland) including TUPE
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Persuasive communication and influencing skills
  • The ability to organise, prioritise, self-manage time and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, producing highly detailed and quality work
  • An analytical approach, always looking to find improvements and efficiencies
  • Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills
  • Adherence to GDPR, highly confidential, sensitive with extreme professionalism
  • Experience with Ceridian is preferable
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent qualification
