Enjoy working as a true HR generalist and want to join our commitment to ensure no family face cancer alone?
We are looking for a customer focussed HR Advisor to join our fantastic People Team which plays a fundamental role in developing organisational capability and performance, to achieve Young Lives vs Cancer’s ambitious plans.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to. At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help children and young people (0-25) and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. Join us and your skills will make a real difference to the lives of young cancer patients.
About the role
This role is a true generalist role. As HR Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the provision of customer-centric, high quality generalist HR support and specialist advice in all areas of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment, on-boarding, payroll and benefits, performance, employee relations matters and well-being.
Working within the HR Operations teams, you will manage 2 HR Coordinators to ensure the smooth delivery of day-to-day HR activities and processes, as well as work closely with the wider HR Operations team and our HR Business Partners, supporting employee relations and change management where needed.
Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.
Currently, we have a London office in Hammersmith, however we are leaving that office in June 2023. We are currently looking for an alternative smaller space elsewhere in London and will have more information on this shortly.
About you
We are looking for someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a great experience to all our colleagues. You will thrive in an environment which requires you to collaborate and share expertise and ideas to achieve best results. The skills and experience we are looking for in this role are:

- Up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation and a track record of putting this into practice
- Experience of managing end-to-end recruitment campaigns, including knowledge on best practices and current issues
- Experience in managing people, providing direction and support
- Collaborative and supportive team player, and great at building relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving
