Alongside producing the latest in broadcast technology, our world-class engineers work on multiple third-party manufacturing products. This collaborative approach to contract manufacturing has produced many commercial successes over the years, including the best-selling British computer of all time, the Raspberry Pi. We also work to pioneer the latest ground-breaking manufacturing processes of the future through the Advanced Manufacturing Research Operations Centre.
What you will be doing:
We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR team. Working as part of the People department, this role will be responsible for all aspects of HR, from coaching management through employee relations cases to leading people related projects across multiple divisions in our multifunctional manufacturing site. Throughout your role, you must ensure consistency is maintained and all actions are in line with employment law and ACAS guidelines. You will have the opportunity to be involved in various innovative projects and will be able to adapt your communication style to suit all levels.
Specific Responsibilities
- Advise employees and coach management on people related issues in line with policies, procedures, best practice and employment law, ensuring consistency is maintained.
- Coordination of and coaching managers in relation to disciplinary and grievance hearings.
- Upskill management team by delivering training in relation to Sony UK Tec HR policies and procedures in the wider context of employment law.
- Supporting the HR Manager with the implementation of a new HR system.
- Reporting and analysing data in multiple formats.
- Manage and coordinate multiple HR processes, including benefits and family processes.
- People project management on initiatives across Sony UK Tec, including policy reviews, well-being and CSR.
Personal Qualities
Essential
- Experience of operating within a human resources function and within an advisory/generalist capacity.
- Strong employee relations background with experience in disciplinaries, grievances, mediation, medical capability and performance.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills and ability contribute valuable ideas and feedback aligned with Sony UK Tec’s vision and goals.
- Reporting and analysing data in multiple formats.
- Good understanding of employment law.
- Highly organized, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- A high level of confidentiality and trustworthiness with the ability to be discreet.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
- Proactive and pragmatic in approach.
- Strong administration skills; Advance MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
- Qualified to CIPD Level 5
- BSc or other qualification in a related field
- Experience with Workday or similar HR systems.
- Experience of operating within a unionised environment
