Job purpose
The valued Human Resources Advisor/ Manager will work in close collaboration with the senior leadership team, managers and team leads to help provide strategic and operational support in the factory. This role requires the individual to be present on site daily.
Duties and responsibilities
Role Duties
- Developing and maintaining a culture among employees that supports continuous improvement, collaboration, respect and accountability.
- Able to engage daily with employees in all departments of the factory.
- Coaching and helping managers with employee relations matters such as absence, lateness, long-term sickness and performance.
- Confidently carrying out investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and appeals and handling redundancies if necessary.
- Helping with succession planning and talent management.
- Taking lead in all recruitment and selection processes, including placing apprentices.
- Ensuring a solid first day induction process is followed.
- Keeping personnel files current and up to date, in line with GDPR.
- Implementation of company handbook, policy and procedures.
- Managing the company’s workwear provider.
- Identifying any training and development needs of employees.
- Managing a team of four including; Payroll, H&S Coordinator and 2 x kitchen/ cleaning staff.
- Responsible for Health and Safety.
- Working closely with the Works Committee representatives.
- Involvement in company’s sustainability committee.
- Being a Samuel Heath advocate.
- Any other ad-hoc duties.
Skills, Attributes & Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to directly manage a small team.
- Minimum CIPD level 5 qualified or working towards.
- Able to establish effective working relationships with all employees.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confidence to provide inhouse training.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law.
- Strong administrative and IT skills such as using Unipoint or Equator.
- Experience in similar role.
