An opportunity is available to join our Employee Relations Team. This post is within our Cancer and Associated Specialities (CAS) Division.

As a HR Advisor you will act as the first point of contact and work closely with Divisions and departments to provide effective front line HR advice and support service to managers and employees and support divisional strategies and workforce plans.

You will be expected to advise on a wide range of HR matters including sickness absence management and wellbeing support, capability, workforce change and organisational development.

Reporting into the Assistant HR Business Partner you will work as part of a small dedicated divisional team as well as having the opportunity to contribute to wider HR initiatives and projects.

You will provide a generalist advisory service to managers and employees across the full HR remit including:

Recruitment and retention

Contracts and terms and conditions

Resolution of employment concerns

Absence management and employee wellbeing support

Employee engagement

You will be part of a supportive Divisional HR team and will also make a significant contribution to the work of the wider HR function. You will be expected to work across all NUH sites and will also have the opportunity to work from home for part of the working week.

You will be required to be conversant with the Trust’s employment policies and procedures, Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions of employment and other HR related issues, demonstrating a sound working knowledge of the practical implications and applications of these to managers.

You will support workforce strategies by:
Assisting with job descriptions, job matching panels, person specifications, knowledge and skills framework competencies and recruitment adverts

Advising managers and staff on different types of roles, contracts, flexible working options and general terms and conditions of employment

Support with recruitment processes if required

Conduct exit interviews as required, feeding back themes and supporting the development of any action plans

Supporting workforce change initiatives

Supporting the staff engagement agenda, understanding feedback from staff and supporting focus groups and action planning.

You will be expected to provide support and guidance in the following key areas:

Sickness monitoring and wellbeing meetings

Employment relations matters helping to achieve informal resolution to issues where appropriate

Employee capability

Employee conduct

You will also have the opportunity to make an active contribution to the work of the wider Human Resources function through involvement in cross team projects
