Purpose of the Role


The HR Advisor will provide comprehensive advice, support, and guidance regarding employee relations issues across the business. This involves working in partnership with leaders and line managers by providing front-line advice on all aspects of HR and being an expert within the team for day-to-day operational queries. This is a wide-ranging, hands-on role that will involve working closely with key stakeholders, acting as their sounding board to build and foster strong working relationships across the organisation.


Principal Accountabilities


  • Working with our leaders to proactively identify organisational needs, evaluate options, develop and drive needed change initiatives
  • Managing stakeholders and developing good working relationships across the organisation
  • Building and executing processes that drive a high performance and growth culture focused on career development
  • Providing day-to-day performance management guidance through coaching and mentoring
  • Acting as an employment law expert and take ownership of employee relations cases and other areas where HR expertise is required, such as redundancies and TUPE, to minimise risk to the business
  • Collaborate and support Head of HR on various HR projects
  • Support on resource planning, performance review, salary review, bonus and promotion conversations
  • Work with HR and Payroll Assistant to maintain HR records, support with monthly payroll run and reporting
  • Provide advice and support on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice, to ensure the effective management, development, and retention of staff
  • Managing and advise on the Visa sponsorship process
  • Manage Family Friendly policies and processes such as Maternity, Paternity and Adoption leave cases
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR service to the business, look for and make improvements to our processes to ensure they are efficient and ensure we are providing excellent client service
  • Mentor and develop the HR and Payroll Assistant to assist with HR knowledge and career progression
  • Partner with Recruitment team and managers to execute and deliver graduate programme, to include delivering a tailored learning and development solution for graduates
  • Support managers in delivering high quality services through effective HR management and development, providing advice, guidance, and support across the full range of HR services
  • Lead on the learning and development analysis of Managers as required and develop learning and development solutions, both in-house and by partnering with third party providers

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience


  • Level 5 CIPD qualified desirable or equivalent experience
  • A senior HR generalist professional with substantial experience in advising senior managers on best HR practice approaches
  • Extensive experience of advising on all matters in relation to employment law. A comprehensive, yet practical working knowledge of current employment law will be vital
  • Experience of managing organisational change in a complex environment
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, essential for building effective relationships and driving positive change
  • Ability to prioritise a demanding workload
  • Experience in the generation and use of accurate data to inform decision making
  • Stay up to date with employment legislation and professional HR issues, utilising your knowledge to navigate challenges effectively
  • MS Office 365 - proficient to at least an intermediate level in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience working with an HRIS and related software
  • Experience of working in a technology business would be an advantage
