As one of the largest automotive retail groups in the UK, Vertu Motors is proud to represent 30 of the World's most popular vehicle manufacturers from 180 sites nationwide. Our three main brands include Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors and Vertu Motors.
Due to internal promotion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Administrator to join our specialist Employee Relations Team. The position will be based at our Head Office on the Team Valley in Gateshead. The main focus of this role is to provide a comprehensive administration service to the team but there may be scope for development in the future. There is no requirement for previous HR experience to apply for this role however an interest in HR or some experience in the workings of an HR department may be advantageous.
This is a full time role working 37.5 hours with a basic salary of £21,000.
About the Role
Duties include but not limited to:
- Co-ordination of the HR System, categorising cases correctly and allocating to the appropriate ER Manager
- Dealing with general HR queries and policy advice
- Administration of Colleague pre-employment checks
- Management of the Maternity/ Shared Parental Schedule
- Handling the administration of Data Subject Access Requests
- Letter production for the Employee Relations Team
- Minute taking in ad hoc meetings
- General departmental administration
- Cross departmental support will be required at busy times
About You
Essential criteria
- Outstanding organisational skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Competent IT skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working autonomously whilst managing a large workload with timebound tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Must understand the importance of confidentiality and be extremely trustworthy with sensitive information
Desirable experience
- Knowledge of HR procedures and processes such as, disability, diversity and equal opportunities
- Experience of pre employment checks
- Minute taking experience
