Resettlement and Recovery Worker

Job Role: Resettlement and Recovery Worker
Salary: £22,105-£24,696 DOE
Hours: Full Time
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Sheffield
The Role
You will provide housing management support to individuals with an offending background and multiple complex needs. You will deliver a high-quality support program that promotes successful and sustainable move on reducing re-offending and homelessness.
Responsibilities include:
Housing Management
· Engage with referral agencies to generate referrals for the service
· To undertake appropriate assessments for potential service users and to review and update these as required.
· To complete all documentation including tenure agreements, property inventory, disclosure forms and an application for housing benefit with service users to support and sustain a successful tenancy.
· Maximise rent collection, ensuring successful housing and other welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained
Support
· Maintain contact with service users in accordance with the requirements of the service.
· Design and deliver an effective person-centred support plan that meets service users needs and results in a successful move on into independent living.
· Complete and regularly review an in-depth risk assessment of the service user to ensure safety of service user and staff
· Advocate on behalf of service users to support access to external services such as mental health and substance misuse services.
· Meet service users in the community and at home and, where necessary, accompany them to appointments with relevant agencies.
· Develop professional relationships with a range of external agencies that supports the on-going needs of service users.
· Support service users to integrate into the community – working with other agencies to join groups, find hobbies and socialise.
· Develop a move-on plan for service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for independent or more appropriate housing.
· To keep clear and comprehensive records and case notes.
Qualifications / Requirements:
· A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle. Business insurance will be required
· Experience of providing support to vulnerable people
· Experience of working with individuals who have multiple and complex needs
· The ability to develop constructive relationships with offenders
· Knowledge of the Welfare Benefits System
· An understanding of the Judiciary System in the UK
· Experience in risk assessment and support planning
· Basic IT skills suitable for an office environment
