About The Team
The Housing Occupational Therapy Service is a part of the Housing Adaptation Team. We support adults and children with disabilities to achieve greater independence, opportunities, and safety at home. We are a multidisciplinary team, with Case Workers, Handypersons, Surveyors and a Coordinator, delivering of a range of services.
This post offers a rare opportunity to work within a well-established team of Housing Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants, where we assess for adaptations, rehousing and work on new build developments.
As an occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be supported by your colleagues to develop within this role. We’ll also give the right candidate the support to become a qualified Occupational Therapist through the Apprenticeship Levy from 2024.
Key Responsibilities
1. To manage a varied caseload of clients. Recommending appropriate and timely intervention.
2. To assess for adaptations, equipment and rehousing.
3. To work closely with colleagues to achieve the best outcome for your clients.
Your Skills
1. Ability to identify and assess functional needs for adults with a disability.
2. Ability to maintain accurate records and report writing to professional standards.
3. Ability to implement eligibility guidance and procedures in relation to provision of equipment, adaptations and alternative housing.
Essential for The Role
1. Experience working in a Health or Social Care customer facing role.
2. Some Housing experience whilst working in these other setting.
3. Enhanced DBS check is required for the role.
