The Council’s Strategic Housing Service is looking to recruit a Housing Accommodation and Business Assistant to support the team with the administration of accommodation for those who are homeless and the processing of financial transactions.

The role is within the Strategic Housing Service’s Accommodation and Business team which is responsible for the management of temporary accommodation including the collection of income, management of tenancy agreements, the monitoring of performance and the development of policies and procedures. This requires experience of processing data, financial processes and transactions, excellent administrative skills and customer care. Knowledge and experience of housing may be an advantage.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with an interest in housing and homelessness to gain experience and knowledge of this area of work which can be both challenging and very rewarding.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week based at the Civic Centre but with some flexibility to work from home in accordance with the Council’s flexible working policy.

As part of our accreditation with Essex Family Friendly Employers Charter, this full-time role can be offered on a job share or part-time basis, providing we are able to recruit to the remaining hours.
