POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Associate job role is under direct supervision of the Executive Head Housekeeper in all operations all public areas, back of house, waste area, offices, halls, car park and grounds and guest bedrooms in the Hotel. All housekeeping associates complete all job duties and all shifts. To build healthy relationships with other departments to and to contact them directly for urgent repairs, guest queries and work-related issues. Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cleans and sanitizes the public bathroom including sinks, toilet and floors.
- Moves furniture, hangs drapes, and rolls carpets.
- Sweeps, vacuums scrubs, waxes, and polishes public area floors.
- Vacuums rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies in the public areas and offices.
- Cleans all Food & Beverage outlets, Public spaces, back of house areas, car park and all grounds. Guest bedrooms and corridors.
- Dusts furniture, wash walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays in public areas and pool area.
- Maintains and cleans the pool area and furniture.
- Replenishes bathroom amenities, replaces light bulbs within public bathrooms.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Fills out maintenance requests for any item(s) that need repair.
- Performs other duties as required, cleans bedrooms if required and requested by manager or supervisor
Rooms Duties:
- Ensure all bedrooms correspond with lists given, reporting any discrepancies immediately to the Housekeeping Lead.
- Collect any laundry and deliver to linen room.
- Remove all trays out of rooms.
- Place all dirty linen skips provided.
- Collect clean linen as and when required.
- Identify reject linen and store this separately to return to the linen room.
- Service and sanitise each room to the highest standard and in accordance with the Marriott room specification, using the correct chemicals and full PPE as required.
- Carry out the ‘Job of the day’ to the highest standard.
- Use chemicals in line with COSHH training
- Report issues within the rooms directly to Maintenance to resolve
- Following correct lost and found procedure inline with training at all times.
- Maintain clean work environment at all times, including trolley cart with all amenities, hoover and chemical basket.
- On delivering additional amenities (baby cot, towels or blankets etc) ensure items are sanitized and social distancing rule is maintained.
Public Area Duties:
- Hoover and dust corridors, clean fire doors and brasses.
- Ensure all public areas correspond with lists given, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Hoover and dust function / meeting rooms
- Regular cleaning of public toilet areas and replenish toiletries, including leisure club if required.
- Sanitise office space, canteen, Associate locker room & toilets
Linen Room Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily laundry shift operations, and ensure compliance with all policies, standards and procedures.
- Ensures stock of linen pars.
- Move linen around the hotel as required.
- Avoid clean laundry contact with floors, walls and dirty laundry bags.
- Ensure PPE is changed every 2 hours, or more often if necessary.
- Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunctions.
- Disinfect washers and dryers.
- Disinfect linen carts when received and returned from outside suppliers
- Following new cleanliness procedure, ensuring towels are washed on property daily.
