Field House is a medium sized residential care home catering for up to 49 residents, some with dementia and reduced mobility. As a member of the housekeeping team your role will be to ensure that the site is cleaned to a consistently high standard, providing a welcoming, healthy and safe environment.
Following a defined cleaning schedule; you will be responsible for a wide variety of general cleaning and laundry duties.
The role requires the use of chemicals and electrical equipment, therefore the successful candidate will be expected to go through our health and safety training.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout Field House on a daily basis.
Expected to clean to the frequency and standards that are set out.
To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
To use the cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically.
Informing the management team when stock levels are running low.
To ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to the management team.
Report to management team any defects seen which are likely to affect security or breach Health and Safety, for example broken/cracked window etc.
Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points, including the separating of waste materials (recycling).
Sweeping floors with brushes and moping of floors with wet or dust control mops in the rooms where there are no carpets.
Suction cleaning carpeted areas and ‘spot’ cleaning carpets using electrically powered pick up machines and or shampoo machines.
Dusting, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, shelves, fittest and radiators.
Cleaning of toilets, hand basins, sinks, baths and showers.
Launder resident's clothing and bed linen.
To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension, from floor level, during periodic cleaning maintenance programmes.
To carry out any other reasonable duties within the scope of the job.
To use only the approved cleaning materials and in accordance with the manufacturers printed instructions and COSHH regulations.
To be aware of their responsibilities to Health and Safety of themselves and others.
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES
An understanding of English language.
The ability to work well within a team but also be able to work on own initiative.
The ability to commute to Eye, Peterborough.
