Job description
To carry out and maintain cleaning standards on the ward/department. To carry out spot cleaning to ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently. To assist with the general and specialist equipment e.g., drip stands, and commodes and to ensure they are cleaned as per cleaning policy. To ensure the ward is safe and tidy at all times. To maintain upkeep of patients bed areas. To identify any problems and report to ward manager or sister/charge nurse. To prepare hot/cold beverages from the beverage trolley. To take responsibility for the ward kitchen, ensuring it is clean at all times e.g., out-of-date-food, stock rotation. To ensure refrigerated food is labelled and stored correctly as per policy. To ensure patients whose fluid intake is not medically restricted have access to fresh water (jugs and glasses). To maintain complete confidentiality with regard to all patient issues.
