Here at HatHats Coffee Company, we are looking for a Housekeeping Assistant to join our team and ensure our head office is a safe, clean environment to work in.
Our coffee outlets are located in Reculver, Canterbury, Whitstable Harbour, Herne Bay, and Faversham. We are on an exciting journey to becoming a £5 million business by 2025, meaning that there will be further outlets opening in the near future!
We're looking for someone who has a 'can do' attitude; someone who is happy to keep our head office clean and tidy, knows how to operate a washing machine, and who is happy to support with a variety of tasks including coffee grinding and bagging. Furthermore, you will need to have great attention to detail and be able to follow set process.

HatHats Coffee Company was founded by serial entrepreneur Louis Hurst and his wife Lisa, in 2015.
HatHats Coffee Company has grown a lot since its start-up days in a vintage Citroen van (‘Hattie’), with there now being seven HatHats outlets in Reculver, Canterbury, Faversham, Whitstable, and Herne Bay. We are currently planning our next phase of development, as we open more outlets and expand our venues and commercial offer.

The important bits you'll need to know...
- You will be contracted to work 15 - 20 hours per week
- You will be based at our head office in Whitstable. We are located on the John Wilson Business Park (often referred to as 'the business park behind Sainsburys').
- Your hourly wage will be £10.90 per hour.
- Training will be provided; covering food preparation processes, and cleaning chemicals etc. in addition to an overview of the business/outlets.
The boxes that you'll need to tick...
- You must have the ability to use your own initiative, and be able to analyse and solve problems
- Organised, with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- You must have great attention to detail
- You will be a team player and happy to support our outlet teams and head office team with ad-hoc tasks, when needed.
- Experience using smart phone apps would be preferable. We use an app for internal communication.
- Be willing to feature in the HatHats vlog and on social media channels (on YouTube)
In-depths of the job...
It is virtually impossible to list every single task that the role will consist of, however, we have listed some of the responsibilities of the role below:
- Cleaning of the offices and food preparation room
- Keeping on top of outlet washing, this will mainly be tea towels and cleaning cloths
- Grinding and bagging coffee to fulfil customer orders
- Bagging coffee sent from the roastery to be sent out to our Coffee Outlets
- Keeping the warehouse clean/tidy, emptying bins and recycling.
- Grating cheese for recipe use in our Coffee Outlets
- Being responsible for the cleanliness of the delivery van, including completing a weekly clean
