Co-ordinate all facilities services in the ward area and work as part of the clinical team to ensure clean, safe and comfortable environment participate with the ward Leader and Matron in delivering key National Standards i.e Essence Of Care, National Standards Of Cleanliness, PEAT Standards.
All employees have an individual responsibility to have a knowledge of and employ the basic principles of infection control practice and to ensure adherence to the requirements in the Infection Control Manual.
We have an opportunity for a well organised person with excellent communication skills to join our team as the housekeeper.
The housekeeper’s role is to coordinate all facilities services within the department working within the team to ensure that the environment is clean safe and comfortable.
The post holder will be expected to participate in and work with the department leader in the delivery of national standards such as Essence of care, National Standards of cleanliness and PLACE standards are met for the department.
The successful applicant must:
- Be a good communicator and have excellent time management skills and the ability to withstand pressure.
- Have the ability to set up and maintain systems.
- Have experience of dealing with and working alongside a wide range of people.
- Have the ability to demonstrate practical and organisational skills.
- Have experience of working within a team environment.
- Have flexibility to work as part of a team

In conjunction with the Matron and Ward Sister assist and participate in the
monitoring and maintaining of cleaning standards on the ward.
Identify and ensure problems are rectified where appropriate.
Report problems to the Ward Sister and Housekeeping Services Department.
Spot cleaning i.e ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently, sanitary areas are checked regularly.
Upkeep of ward appearance i.e remove clutter, tidy notice boards, attend to storage requirements, signage etc ensuring PEAT environmental standards are adhered to, throughout the ward.
Take responsibility for ensuring the unit store room is clean, tidy, well organised and adequately stocked at all times, liaising with the clinical staff regarding their requirements.
Responsible for maintaining the linen trolley is adequately stocked, order replacements as Necessary.
Liaise with Housekeeping Department with regard to specialist cleaning i.e carpet cleaning, curtain changes
