Housekeeper/Cleaner
£15- 17 per hour depending on experience
4 hours daily (9am to 1pm) Mon to Fri including bank holidays
Additional: overtime as requested by homeowner for occasional Saturday’s and baby sitting/house sitting offered for overtime pay
Equipment: all cleaning supplies will be provided by the home owner
Role overview:
- Daily cleaning rota to be provided for whole house (7 bed, 3 baths, 5 WC, 4 shower, pool, office and gameroom)
- Daily general tidy up
- Strip beds, wash and make beds once a week or when guests stay
- Laundry – wash and dry, Iron (if needed) fold and return to cupboards/ wardrobes
- Food shopping unpacking – unpack and store, clean of cupboards and fridge regularly
- Organising of draws and cupboards/ wardrobes as required
- Organising childrens rooms/ toys (age 9 & 11)
- Hoovering throughout the house
- Waste management – unpack parcels, remove rubbish to external bins, take out internal bins and take and return bins to road as per collection rota
- Collect post from postbox
- Clean ovens monthly
- Dishwashing/ unloading a reloading/ handwashing when required
- Regular maintenance of white goods – dishwasher clean cycle, washing machine clean cycle carried out.
- Mopping/ polishing throughout
- Feed pets daily (cats) and do litter trays twice a week (change) and alpacas from time to time
- Clean gym, sauna and pool
- Clean down outside patio furniture in summer and sweep outdoor areas
- Additional cleaning tasks as required and previously agreed
Requirements:
- Must have previous experience of cleaning/housekeeping duties
- Must be able to produce a reference of a high quality testifying to the previous cleaning/housekeeping duties
- Must have DBS check/be prepared to have one carried out and be trustworthy
- High attention to detail
- Excellent time management
- Good communication including raising any issues they may come across while cleaning
- Personable/approachable demeanour
- Must be able to quietly get on with tasks at hand and manage own time
- Must be comfortable around animals and children
- Happy to get stuck in and take pride in their work
Work environment:
- Happy to work around other house staff (Gardener, maintenance, etc.)
- Family are down to earth and warm within a clean, minimalist home
- Reporting directly to home owners so good communication skills are required to share information about stock levels/any issues that need addressing
- Suitable clothing should be worn as a uniform will not be provided
