Housekeeper for Care Home/Neuro Care Centre Required

We are currently recruiting for a Housekeeper to undertake the day-to-day cleaning within Shelley Park Ltd. We currently have 4 homes and circa 120 employees locally within the Bournemouth Area.

You will be in a team of other housekeepers and laundry assistants.

Within This Role You Will Be Responsible For

Providing a full and effective housekeeping service, ensuring the highest possible standards of cleanliness and hygiene. It is about maintaining a beautiful and comfortable living environment for our residents. You will have daily contact with staff, residents, relatives, and guests, so a warm personality and good customer care is essential.

You’ll have previous experience in a similar role. You will be friendly, kind, honest, reassuring and an effective communicator, equally comfortable to act on instructions or work on your own initiative and you'll enjoy being part of a close-knit team. About the Role

Contracted Hours: Approximately 35 hours per week

Core Hours Required: 10-5pm, 5 days per week including some weekend working.

Shelley Park provides comfortable and modern residential accommodations, major elements of which have been purpose built and specifically designed for residential, day service, respite care and community-based clients.

Key Responsibilities

· To ensure cleaning of all areas of the home are to the highest standard, including grounds.

· Establish and maintain a rapport with individual residents and agree a convenient time to carry out cleaning of their personal rooms.

· To organise deep cleaning duties when required.

· To ensure the laundry of residents clothing is to the highest standard, including ironing.

· Ensure that all residents’ wardrobes and clothing drawers are kept clean, neat and tidy.

· Ensure catering, cleaning and laundry supplies are stored safely and used effectively to minimise wastage.

· Maintain a high standard of hygiene within the home and adhere to COSSH guidelines.

· Maintain health and safety in the home by adhering to the company’s policies and procedures at all times.

· To co-operate with requests from the Registered Manager, Clinical Lead, and residents wherever possible.

Skills & Experience

· To understand and ability to adhere to infection control, health and safety/COSHH guidelines.

· Proven communication skills both written and verbal.

· Proven ability to organise priorities.

· Ability to appreciate the needs of others.

· Ability to work as part of a team.

· Ability to work unsupervised, using initiative and maintain professional standards, even when under pressure.

· Flexibility to meet the needs of Shelley Park.

· Smart appearance, good personal hygiene standards.

· Keen to learn and improve own performance.

· Has a ‘can-do’ attitude to work and willing to go the extra mile.
