Job description
We currently have part-time and full-time vacancies for Senior Housekeepers within the Trauma Service.
Trauma Ward 3A and Major Trauma Ward 2A are both 24-bed adult inpatient wards in the recently refurbished Trauma Unit, John Radcliffe Hospital. We provide 24 hour care to patients aged 16 and above, who have sustained a range of traumatic injuries. This includes major trauma, hip/fragility fractures and spinal injuries. Most of our patients require surgical fixation and we care for them before and after their operation.
We are flexible in terms of working hours and shift patterns, so please contact us to discuss this.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working as part of a team in a busy and unpredictable environment. Being organised and excellent communication skills are a must, along with an enthusiastic can-do attitude and a friendly demeanour.
The focus of the role is to ensure that the ward is clean and tidy, well maintained and that clinical staff are supported so they can focus on the care and treatment of our patients.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all patients’ dietary requirements are met, and mealtimes run smoothly. This includes updating our patient record system with any relevant information concerning fluids or dietary needs to assist the nursing team.
Along with the rest of the housekeeping team, you will also be responsible for managing stock levels of disposable equipment on the ward and ensuring non-disposable equipment is maintained in good working order.
Experience within the NHS would be an advantage but not essential.
