Our client is seeking a House/Office Manager to provide service to a non-UK based couple in their Belgravia home when they visit (typically these are every 2 months for a fortnight).
They have one daughter who is based in London at her own apartment close to the main residence.
When the principals are not in residence you will be expected to assist the team at the Corporate Office (located in Marylebone) with both service and general maintenance.
When the principals are not in residence you will work regular hours (no weekends) and your duties will include:
- Care of the principals car to include cleaning, maintenance, tax, insurance etc
- Completing errands, driving tasks and completing any other requests made by the principals daughter
- Taking care of appliances, replacing light bulbs, checking on plumbing and boiler systems along with any small handy man jobs at the property and the offices
- Upkeep of AV and Wi-Fi systems at the property, reporting issues to the relevant contractors to ensure they are fixed
- Cleaning of terraces, gutters, and general external care of the property
- Generally assisting the housekeepers with their tasks
- Running errands for the principal and other members of the immediate family
- Liaising with contractors for general maintenance and any issues that arise
- Security of the house including locking up, alarming and dealing with calls from monitoring company if alarm is activated
- Assisting with any events that may be held at the corporate office and provide holiday cover for staff based there
- All other needs of the property and the office whenever required
When the Principals are in residence you will be required to work longer days (including weekends) and the duties will include:
- Driving the principals as and when required in central London and beyond, this will often include late night finishes. An agency driver can be arranged to assist with luggage and when two cars are needed
- Some PA duties including ticket booking, reservations, shopping etc
- Packing and unpacking, valet duties and care of the male principals wardrobe
- Provisioning for food and any other requirements before their arrival and during their stay
- Arranging several floral displays around the home, sourcing the flowers directly from New Covent Garden
- Organising and briefing an agency chef to work on certain days as required by the principal
- When the chef is not working then the cooking basic meals (often BBQ) for the family and guests of up to 8 people. The principal will instruct you what to cook and provide instructions
- Service for the principals and guests at mealtimes, clearing up and washing up
- Accompanying the principal to the corporate office and providing service to him, other board members and guests
- Any additional requests by family members
Key Candidate Qualities & Experience:
- Driving experience with a working knowledge of Central London, confident to drive a large vehicle
- Flexibility to adapt to last minute changes
- Experience of working in SW1 / SW3
- Does not need to be a chef but needs to be confident in the kitchen to prepare light meals and salads for the family, often using the gas BBQ
- A ‘can do’ attitude and happy to assist when and where necessary
- Work in a small team and ability to ‘find their own work’ when the client is not in residence
- Experience of working with and fault finding with; AV Systems, Lutron, BMS (Trent), swimming pools,
Must Have:
- Full and clean UK Driving licence
- >5yrs experience in domestic private service
- Fully legally able to work in the UK
Salary on offer of £50,000k pa gross.
Any additional overtime will be paid.
