Job description

Responsible for the cleaning of all designated areas in the unit to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. In line with current health and safety, and infection control legislation and the Trusts policies and procedures. To ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the service at all time. Responsible for designated areas and you will ensure these areas are cleaned to the frequency and standard set out. To use approved cleaning materials appropriately in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, COSHH and internal guidelines. To use cleaning materials economically and to ensure appropriate levels of stock are maintained, as agreed with your line manager. Liaise with the Domestic Office team to ensure that any cleaning materials required are ordered. Identify and report any pest control issues through the appropriate channels and ensure this is recorded electronically within the Unit’s Quality Management System. Be able to identify and report any non-conformances and record them electronically within the Unit’s Quality Management System Northampton General Hospital is one of the largest employers in the area and we are on an exciting journey. Work with the Environmental Lead to complete environmental audits of the Unit and close off any actions that may be raised. To use electrical and mechanical equipment, floor polishers etc. after appropriate training. To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order and defects and faults are reported to your line manager. To contribute to major cleaning tasks as required by the service. During the course of your work you will at all times conduct yourself in a professional manner acting as a role model to colleagues and service users contributing to the delivery of quality services. To work as a member of the team, contributing to the team ethos and supporting service users(s) and colleagues appropriately. You are required to report any enquiries /issues and/or concerns to the line manager providing information to enable them to take appropriate action. To ensure that all relevant documentation is completed accurately and effectively in a timely manner. To undertake any other duties as may from time to time be specified by the Trust, that is within the level and responsibility appropriate to the grade of post
