Grade: HPL1, £48.53 per direct teaching hour. This includes the following elements: teaching, preparation and marking of the scheduled programme of work (Flat rate of £19.41 will be paid for completing one of the above elements of the schedule.)

We are seeking to recruit lecturers who are available to work during the academic year and will be paid on an hourly basis in the following subjects within the BA (Hons) Animation and MA Animation courses:
1. 3D (CG) character animation. To teach formal class sessions in how to animate using 3D digital software. Classes are taught using Maya, but an additional working knowledge of animating in Blender is also desirable.
2. Animation character performance. Teaching the nuances of character performance and acting to bring a script to life.
3. Imparting sufficient rigging knowledge to troubleshoot faulty rigs.
4. The historical and contemporary context of animation and current industry practice to contextualise and enhance students’ learning.
You will work under the direction of the Academic Team Leader in delivering high quality teaching and learning to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. Duties will include preparation, delivery, and marking where required. You will be expected to deliver lectures and run seminars and tutorials, taking responsibility for issuing feedback, guidance, and pastoral care.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate ideas of a complex or technical nature to students effectively, using a variety of teaching methods, have detailed knowledge of the particular subject area through significant teaching, and/or industry experience.
