Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist at The Clyde Hotel, 377 Argyle Street G2 8LL. Full time and Part time roles available on a permanent basis.

As a receptionist you are the first and last person our guests see, you set the tone for the visit and ensure that everything has gone above and beyond before they leave. You will be delivering attentive customer focused service, understand company standards and enjoy working as part of a successful team. Your responsibilities will also include, but not limited to:

  • Check guests in and out, issue keys & provide guests with information as necessary
  • Check bookings coming in from booking agents such as Booking.com, Expedia and other channels and be familiar with their booking systems
  • Take direct manual bookings, via telephone, email, walk in following Reception procedure
  • Maximising revenue through upsells and room sales
  • Take Guest and V-Card payments and pay off on Hotel's booking system, flagging up declined cards, following up and issuing appropriate notification to guests and the booking agents
  • Guest communication - writing emails using the reception computers
  • Dealing with Guest complaints, providing solutions & escalating to management where necessary
  • Liaise with Management, Housekeeping and Maintenance

You must have:

  • Good communications skills, speaking clearly, and being comfortable in a front facing role
  • Have good writing and IT skills
  • Be polite, professional, presentable, calm and well organised always
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest services
  • Courteous and pleasant attitude towards guests and other team members
  • Patience and good listening skills
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Good telephone manner and IT Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and able to multitask
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and a practical approach to problem solving
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Hotel is open 7 days a week so candidates must be available to work any days of the week, including weekends on a rota basis.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £7.50-£10.42 per hour
