Orton Hall Hotel is a beautiful country House set in 20 acres of parkland on the outskirts of the wonderful city of Peterborough.

Target: To provide a high standard of customer care to consistently meet the standards expect by our guests.

· To receive all enquiries correctly and to take appropriate action where required

· To greet all guests on arrival with a friendly and efficient welcome, remembering to use eye contact at all times

· To ensure all guests are offered the services on arrival as per the Front Office standard (see talklines)

· To provide information for guests on local places of interest etc

· To be aware of how to procure the services of Doctors, Dentists etc and that you do so at the request of the guest

· To operate the switchboard promptly, politely and efficiently when the business request it

· To receive guests valuables for safe keeping following the company procedures and to provide “written” confirmation of such requests i.e. issue a safety deposit receipt

· To be aware of meetings and events being held in the Hotel on a weekly basis as per the event sheets

· To deal with all guests comments competently and reporting complaints to DM.

· Ensure the correct procedure is carried out for any bookouts

· Think quality at all times, make suggestions for improvement and discuss any quality issues with your quality team representative.

· Hotel standards met

Target: To ensure the accuracy of all bills and adhere to all cash handling and credit procedures

· To ensure daily reports are correctly printed

· To pre-allocate rooms following specifications from Room Sales, Housekeeping Or GM.

· To check all pay-ins and report any discrepancies immediately

· To adopt the proper procedure when dealing with debit/credit cards, cheques, bankers cards and foreign currency

· To ensure that the correct rates and charges are being quoted

· To make payments of petty cash, on completion of relevant voucher and a receipt

· To ensure that all information is promptly and accurately entered into the computer

· To enter neatly, promptly and accurately all manually completed accounting procedures i.e. paying in slips, final banking sheet, banking envelope, foreign currency details, travellers cheques

· Ensure that all floats are correct on the shift and deal with any discrepancies appropriately

· Ensure that the banking is correct and any overages/shortages are recorded and reported to the F.C or GM.

· To authorise and monitor allowances against the days business

Measures:

· Sales ledger accounts accurate

· Daily banking correct

· Reduction in errors

Target: To ensure the individual needs of the customers are met and to proactively upsell

· To ensure that all messages are passed on accurately and immediately to guests and the Hotel team

· To perform handover between shifts and ensure that they are precise and accurate

· To ensure all incoming mail is dealt with promptly and reaches its correct destination, checking again before you

· To co-operate in every way with other business centres to maximise the use of the Hotel Facilities

· To make every effort to increase Room Sales and to obtain the best possible rate, remembering to liase with Room Sales who will have offered the “rate of the day”

· To promote other LTH Hotels where possible

· To action enquiries in line with Room Sales Policy

· To ensure no chance business is turned down when the Hotel has rooms to sell

· Customer requests met

· Messages delivered to guests promptly

Target: To ensure effective Sales activity within Front Office

· To identify sales opportunities to increase revenue

· To be involved in short term incentive schemes

· To look to sell upgrades at Reception

Measures:

· Increase in yield

· Movement of the average room rate

· Regular incentive in operation

· Increase in upgrades sold

· Achievement of budget

Target: Provide a healthy, safe, hygienic and secure environment for staff and customers

· Keeping up-to-date with all relevant legislation

· All legal notices displayed in the workplace

Measures:

· Good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation

· Training records

· Notice board up to date

· Audit records

· Records ready for inspection

· Course attendance

From time to time, depending on the needs of the business, your duties may vary.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 0-40 per week

Salary: £10.42 per hour
