Job description

Hotel property management system experience is preferable. We use Guestline This job role will be 4/5 out of 7 days and will include weekend/bank holidays, the 8 hour shift will be either morning or evenings.

Principal Duties.

  • Receive & register guests, allocate accommodation in an efficient & professional manner
  • Answer & make telephone calls, take messages, transfer calls.
  • Receive all enquiries for accommodation, take the reservation & enter into the computer system correctly.
  • Chase confirmations, take deposits, cancel reservations
  • Take Restaurant reservations
  • Produce correct bills & process payments, daily banking
  • General administrative duties
  • Promote & up sell the hotel & our services at any given opportunity

Financial

  • Cash up the reception takings and floats
  • Invoice & receive payment for accommodation & services
  • Complete daily banking reports
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure all function accounts are accurate

Customer Liaison:

  • Provide information on the hotel & sister hotels, information on services offered, current promotions & identify additional sales opportunities wherever possible
  • Help & advise guests on local facilities & areas of interest
  • Receive, investigate & respond to enquiries. Deal with complaints & problems in a tactful & pleasant manner
  • Inform the General Manager of any complaints
  • Make travel & entertainment arrangements for guests

General Duties:

  • Liaise with relevant Department Heads to maintain the high standards expected of guests i.e. Housekeeping to ensure that rooms are ready for guest’s arrival
  • Produce a Restaurant booking sheet
  • Arrange postage service for guests when required
  • Take orders for room & lounge service
  • Take custody of valuables & ensure security controls are efficient
  • Work within the agreed rota system
  • Report all accidents concerning guests & staff to the duty manager & log in the accident book
  • During the shifts mainly late when the majority of the guest have checked in the Hotel receptionist will also be helping with Food/Bar service,

On some occasins the reception team may work a longer shift at which time either extra time will given off or extra hours paid

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £10.55-£11.00 per hour
