We are currently looking to recruit an extremely reliable individual into our front office team at Mercure Hotel Paddington.

The position of hotel Receptionist requires the individual to work on a shift basis, 40 hours per week. Free meal is available while on shift and other company benefits once completed 6 months.

Hourly starting wage is £11.05 per hour, but can be negotiated depending on experience level.

Examples of shift hours:

Early Shift: 07:00 - 15:00.

Mid Shift: 12:00 - 20:00.

Late Shift: 15:00 - 23:00.

On these shifts you may find yourself working alone for part of them or work fully with another colleague for all of the shift.

The individual will be given full training previous experience is not a requirement.

This position does require the individually to be full flexible and be able to work most weekends. As a hotel we never close and are open 365 days a year. Therefore working Bank Holidays will be extremely likely including days such as Christmas day and New Years day.

The individual must be/have:

  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

The individual must already be residing in the UK.

The individual must be extremely reliable and trustworthy with a hunger for delivering excellent customer service.

Most importantly the individual needs to be completely flexible and be able to work any day of the week and any shift due to the needs of the hotel.

Responsibilities include ( the below list is not exhaustive ):

- Checking guests into the hotel.

- Checking guests out of the hotel.

- Taking payments.

- Following company procedures.

- Creating reservations

- Responding to emails.

- Answering telephone calls.

- Dealing with customer complaints.

- Handling minor maintenance issues.

- Problem solving.

- Delivering first class customer service.

Due to the nature of the role and the hours of work required we are looking for a very confident individual who prides themselves on having fantastic common sense and is not afraid of solving problems.
