An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Long Term Permanent Full or Part Time Hotel Receptionist to join the Front of House team working within this 96 bedroom, 4 star establishment.
You will provide guests with an efficient and friendly welcome and departure, while ensuring the department operates in an organised manner. Ensure a professional, friendly and courteous service to all guests. To be familiar with the day`s business, including arrivals, departures and any special requests. To have a thorough understanding of all requirements when checking-in and/or checking-out a guest. To offer guest services such as wake up calls, newspaper, assistance with luggage upon check-in and communicate and upsell hotel services to guests. Handle all guest enquiries and complaints in a professional manner. Ensure all cash, float and till procedures are carried out in accordance with the hotel policies. To assist in the smooth running of the front office as required during your shift.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- To ensure guests receive a warm welcome to the hotel and assist them throughout their stay
- Respond to all enquiries in an efficient and professional manner
- Taking payments and ensuring cash handling procedures are adhered to
- Maintaining high standards of the front desk
- To sell and upsell all hotel facilities to increase revenue
- To attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions
- To maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene and appearance
- To ensure all reservations, modifications and cancellations are processed according to hotel policies
Skills required:
- Excellent proven customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
- Experience of Rezlynx is preferred but not essential as full training will be given
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi task is essential
- Attention to detail
- To be honest and reliable at all times
- Flexibility and a positive, "can do" attitude is a must
- A confident, friendly and approachable personality
- A good sense of humour!

A typical working week would involve working five days, a mixture of early (07:00 - 15:00) late (15:00 - 23:00) and day shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year
Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred but is not essential as full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
