Hotel Receptionist / Front of House

As our Receptionist you will be the first and last person our guests see, your helpful and engaging approach, your passion for great service will create an amazing impression each and every time they visit.
We are looking for a Receptionist with excellent interpersonal skills and who will manage requests promptly, helpfully, politely and with a caring attitude. The team are on hand from 7.00am – 11.00pm and work closely together to meet and exceed our guests’ expectations, from answering calls and emails, to checking guests in and out and managing all the administration that goes on in between.
The role:
- Work closely with the team to provide a consistently high quality of service to all guests and visitors.
- Manage guest arrivals and departures with warmth and efficiency, demonstrating the superb customer service that Hambleton Hall is renowned for.
- Handling multiple enquiries about our hotel, our restaurant and local area with confidence and enthusiasm.
- Provide accurate billing, processing payments and handling all administration efficiently and in a timely manner.
- This is a full time position, working up to 45 hours a week, 5 days out of 7 on a rota system and will include shift working.
Our Reception is a fast paced and busy department. We are looking for someone who has warmth, charm and a natural gift for hospitality. The following skill set would be an advantage, but we will provide you with full training and you will have the support of your very experienced colleagues.
Ideally, you will have:
- Great customer service skills, the ability to deal with difficult situations with patience, understanding and professionalism.
- Good verbal and written skills, managing emails, phone calls and face to face meetings with guests, often simultaneously.
- Numerate with good organisational skills, able to manage the billing and balancing of guest’s accounts while maintaining the needs of the front desk.
- Resilient and diligent, with the ability to multitask and juggle many changing priorities.
- Previous Hotel experience could be an advantage; however, we do offer full training and we believe that the right person, in the right place can become a positive member of our team.

Hambleton Hall is a luxury 5-star country house hotel situated on the peninsula above Rutland Water. As we are in a very rural setting, with no public transport, you will need transport to get to and from the hotel.
