Hotel Receptionist

Location: Holiday Inn, Ellesmere Port

Contract: 40 Hours - includes evenings and weekends

Salary: £11 per hour

What you’ll be doing!

The reception desk is the first point of contact for our guests and also provides the first and lasting impression for our guests. Therefore, you will be warm and knowledgeable and provide helpful guidance to our guests. You will provide fantastic service to our guests encouraging them to return. As a Reception Team Member, you will check our guests in and out efficiently ensuring they have all they need for a great stay and exceed their expectations. You will look after guests queries and concerns as well as finding solutions to any concerns that may arise.

This is a high profile role within the hotel and as one of the main guest contact areas you will be a driving force for customer service and contribute to many of the Hotel and Company targets.

Job Profile

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Welcoming guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner recognising new and also returning guests

2. Checking guests in, issuing room keys, providing information on hotel services and room location

3. Ensure required identification is taken from guests at check-in in line with local legislative requirements

4. Answer phones promptly, professionally and to Brand Standard

5. Up-sell rooms where possible to maximise hotel revenue and make reservations where appropriate

6. Answer, record and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns

7. Record guest preferences in the system

8. Check guests out, including resolving any guest queries

9. Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures and balance floats and tills at the end of your shift

10. Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines
