We are looking for an exceptional Hotel Reception Supervisor who loves working with people and strives to achieve excellent standards of customer service.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and customer-experience focused individual to join Accommodation, Catering and Events to help lead our reception team and deliver a high, consistent standard of customer service.

The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time following a period of extensive refurbishment to our hotels which are part of the University of Edinburgh Hospitality & Events collection. This post offers a unique opportunity for both personal and professional development, with opportunities to progress, taking on additional responsibilities and a key role to enhance the reputation of our hotels.

In this role you will:

  • Be an ambassador for our newly refurbished and rebranded products.
  • Continuously look to improve our standards and deliver world-class hospitality.
  • Become an integral part of our existing reception team with a desire to succeed in delivering our values.
  • Utilise existing line management skills to motivate and encourage the reception staff in the delivery of customer service excellence.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Excellent customer service

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure for a period of time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience in administration including use of Microsoft packages and relevant computer software

To succeed in this busy role you will need strong multi-tasking skills, a passion for providing high levels of customer service and a real eye for detail. You will have experience in a busy front-facing customer service environment; a hospitality background and experience in dealing with a wide variety of customers. in a professional manner. Advantageous experience includes; experience leading a team in a hospitality environment; administrative experience including the use of specialised software systems.
