Job description
The post lies work within the Council’s Housing Solutions Service and based at Ty Iolo Hostel, Barry a very empathetic and compassionate environment for households who have become homeless and await alternative permanent housing. Ty Iolo Hostel is a 24-hr staff temporary accommodation resource consisting of 21 rooms of accommodation with shared kitchen and living space, providing support and assist to a range of household types, form single to families with children.

Pay Details: £21,575-£ 22,369 including shift enhancements.
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: shift pattern including evenings, weekends and sleep-overs

Description:
To maintain a record of actions taken in relation to all hostel management issues/incidents and liaise with the Temporary Accommodation Manager to report all such incidents.
To receive new residents into the Hostel and complete all necessary records including license agreement, Housing Benefit forms, Supporting People, Referral forms, Homelessness Applications and Housing Register Applications in line with the Council’s statutory obligations and adopted policies.
To participate fully in the Hostel Rota to ensure adequate security and proper management in line with the Council’s statutory obligations and adopted policies. This includes the assisting in co-ordination of overnight sleep-in/weekend/evening arrangements, out of hours admissions, and making all necessary arrangements with the night security company.

You will need:
- Experience of working within a hostel environment
- Experience of working with very vulnerable clients
- Experience of working with the public
- Experience of record keeping and office systems
- Experience of rota based working
