Hostel Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hostel Worker to play a vital role in providing support at our Phase One project.

Position: Hostel Worker
Location: Brighton
Salary: £24,890 Plus £1,469 enhancement (Total Salary £26,359)
Hours: 37
Closing Date: Wednesday 3rd May at 12 noon

About the role:

As a Hostel Worker, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission is ‘combating homelessness, creating opportunities, promoting change.’

The Hostel Worker will ensure that the day-to-day running of the project is carried out efficiently and effectively. The Hostel Worker will undertake daily reception and building management tasks, support clients in their transition into the service, use the service effectively, maintain their personal space and attend appointments. The Hostel Worker will support key workers and the service’s Training and Personal Development Worker to deliver bespoke personalised support plans to clients, including the delivery of activities.

About you:

To be successful in the role of Hostel Worker you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:

  • Undertake practical management of the project.
  • Ensure a warm welcome at reception for clients and visitors.
  • Offer support to clients to ensure they feel safe and secure.
  • Participate and lead on practical life-skills training with clients to promote independent living.
