The appointment of a specialist teacher in Home Economics will enrich our curriculum with breadth, depth and challenge. To meet the Education needs of our pupils as their Teacher you will:
a. Deliver appropriate educational experiences and outcomes within the Curriculum for Excellence and National Accreditation, as appropriate.
b. Develop this curriculum area in line with national recommendations and keep abreast of all educational developments.
c. Be part of our commitment to Skills Development within SQA Skills for Learning, Life and Work.
d. Deliver the curriculum in such a way that all will feel included, noticed and held in mind.
e. Work to the goal of helping our pupils feels safe to learn in their school time.
f. Advocate for our learners when working in partnership with family and agencies within the plan.
g. In delivering our relational model of teaching, time will be prioritised to:
? Assess individual needs.
? Create and maintain Education Plans, Risk assessments and Individual Crisis Management Plans.
? Problem solve strategies to support unique learners and achieve positive outcomes.
? Implement, monitor & evaluate individual plans.
h. Teachers will also prepare relevant reports and routinely record on our school Information Management System.
i. Contribute actively as part of a team approach to providing whole school learning opportunities.
j. Promote and strengthen Relational health through positive role modelling, open and engaged, using the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy [P.A.C.E.]
The length of the working year will be 195 days. Your working hours will be 14 hours per week. A normal week will be made up of class contact time and an allowance for work preparation, marking and other obligations of the school as identified by the Head of Education.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
