Job description
Exciting opportunity to work for Extra Care services
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.
Do you enjoy helping others and making a significant difference to someone’s life? If you do, then a career in Extra Care could be for you!
Fernways, George Davies Lodge and Oakfield Lodge - Extra Care Sheltered Housing Units have vacancies for an Out of Hours Supervisor and Care Staff. They are looking for like-minded, enthusiastic people who think service users deserve nothing but the best and are committed in providing high standards of care that promotes choice, dignity, privacy and supports people to continue to live independently.
The services operate shift patterns of 7am-1pm, 1pm-5pm and 5pm–11pm, over weekends and bank holidays (for which enhancements are paid), so you will need to be flexible and prepared to work hours that meet the needs of a very busy service.
Ideally, you should be experienced and have a professional qualification in care (minimum of NVQ Level 2 or the equivalent) but this is not essential, as full training will be given. What is more important is that you have the right attitude and values and willing to attain a professional qualification in care as part of your personal development.
This is a part time, permanent post working 30 hours per week which also includes weekend working.
PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE AN OFFICE AND COMMUNITY BASED ROLES. THEY ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR WORKING FROM HOME.
