We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Home Care Lead to lead our team based within United Care BANES (UCB), that understands the BANES Council’s visions and values for our service area. United Care BANES is located within Cleeve Court, a modern Community Resource Centre (CRC) based in Bath.
UCB is an innovative service, jointly run by B&NES Council and the Royal United Hospital, to deliver domiciliary care to service users across Bath and Northeast Somerset locality. This role will have a responsibility for the supervision of the service in the absence of the Registered Manager.
This role is a permanent role working 37 hours per week and a Grade 7 position.
As a Home Care Lead:
- You will plan the delivery of community-based home care in collaboration with health and social care practitioners, service users and informal carers, to meet the objectives identified by the care assessment.
- You will work with the staff teams to carry out initial risk assessments to ensure the planned care is safe and appropriate, and you will be a point of contact for home care staff to consult on with issues around manual handling and safeguarding.
- You will supervise home care staff and support them to develop their skills.
- You will also support the scheduling of visits to service users in receipt of the service, working alongside the Business Home Care Lead (also being advertised) who will be co-ordinating all the care hours required to be provided using an electronic scheduling system.
- You should be a strong team player, be able to be proactive and to think creatively, and you should have a relevant Health/Social Care qualification.
- You should also have assessment skills, supervisory experience and be able to train others in manual handling techniques.
- You should be able to think on your feet and respond to the challenges that arise in the provision of a social care service.
- You will need to be a good communicator, with excellent time management skills, a good working knowledge of relevant health and social care legislation.
