HIGHER EDUCATION ASSISTANT

JOB SUMMARY
We are currently hiring for a Higher Education Assistant to join our specialist Education team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated entry-level educationalist to be involved in a small but growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, with a desire to provide high-quality support to both our higher-education consultants and our higher-education customers.
KEY DUTIES
- Day-to-day client servicing support; check-ins and general liaisons, time-sensitive updates, comprehensive administrative support, and arrangement of meetings and visits.
- Researching and producing personalised university exploratory reports for clients, ranging from Foundation courses to PhD programmes.
- Communicating with local and international undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education admissions offices, and relevant departmental and outreach teams.
- Assisting with arranging physical and virtual tours, open days, taster lectures, reading list requests and similar experiences or recommendations. Regularly tracking online resources and visiting opportunities published by UK & US universities.
- Keeping up to date with educational news, policies, and trends to ensure the team are aware of relevant sector specific developments or changes, both in the UK and US.
- Providing general support to the Higher Education consultants (both internally and externally) and assisting Senior Members of the team with client-specific tasks.
- Supporting with academically focused pre-college/pre-university summer courses and summer camps.
- Learning and developing knowledge of the Higher Education systems in the UK & US, with the view to establishing individualised expertise
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Educated to degree level, or higher.
- A full UK or US educational history is preferrable but not essential. If the candidate has no prior experience, they need to demonstrate a willingness to learn, and/or other sector-relevant experiences.
- Professional and courteous at all times.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional service. Existing experience in customer relations preferable.
- Genuinely engaged with the education sector, with an independent interest in industry developments and changes.
- Positive with a ‘can do’ attitude – prepared to share workloads and get involved on all projects.
- Efficient and self-motivated.
- Familiarity with some, or all, of the following educational qualifications: GCSE Levels, A Levels,International Bachelorette (IB), French Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement (AP), SAT and ACT.
- Interested in learning and further developing a knowledge of the Higher Education systems in the UK & US, with the view to establishing individualised expertise. Potential to progress to a Junior Consultant position in the future if the candidate is a suitable fit.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm.
However, it may be the case that in order to fulfil the duties of the role, different or additional hours may be necessary on occasion
REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written).
- Excellent communicator, with a polite and professional telephone and email manner.
- Experienced in handling sensitive customer-service situations.
- Knowledgeable about the UK, and ideally the US, education systems, as well as familiar with additional international qualifications as listed above. Experience with the UK and/or US university application processes is preferrable.
- Ability to react and adapt quickly to new requirements and client requests.
- Creative problem solver with strong organisational skills.
- Good handling of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines working under pressure.
