Job description

Hounslow IAPT is a well-established, friendly, and diverse service, priding itself on supporting the development and wellbeing of our staff through:

  • Training opportunities in additional IAPT modalities (e.g., EMDR/BCT), supervision; generous CPD programme (e.g., cPTSD, LTCs, ACT over the last year)
  • Opportunities to lead on specialist interests (e.g., LTC, groups, liaison), contribute to service development including QI, and deliver training, teaching and supervision

  • Opportunities for career progression, with staff having progressed from trainees to seniors
  • A dedicated wellbeing team who promote a healthy work-life balance and organise regular team events; a ‘Joy at Work’ QI project team who have involved the whole team in developing small, but impactful changes to cultivate a little more joy
  • Flexible, agile working policy, with staff combining working from home and on site (our main base is in Isleworth, with community locations from Chiswick to Feltham, many close to lovely independent cafes and businesses – we often allocate these considering people’s commutes)
  • An additional ‘golden hello’, paid over 2 years, recognising that Hounslow is an Outer London borough and does not attract the full HCAS of Inner London boroughs; up to £8,000 in relocation costs for people relocating from ≥ 40 m
  • Provide a qualified specialist CBT service to people presenting with moderate to severe depression and anxiety. This involves referral screening and assessments to determine suitability for the service, and NICE-recommended CBT treatment in individual and group format, and via online computerised CBT platforms. Appointments take place in person, via video, or via telephone. The role may also include supporting PWPs to facilitate community and/or in-house workshops.
  • Work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, being committed to equal opportunities
  • Provide advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers
  • Provide supervision of other colleagues such as PWPs, trainee HI therapists, trainee psychologists and trainees from other professional groups
  • Work one evening shift a week (12-8pm) – as we are passionate about engaging all groups of our community, we operate evening clinics (up until 8pm) Monday - Thursday
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures
  • Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research
If you are in the process of completing your CBT qualification or awaiting results, you will progress to Band 7 salary upon the receipt of confirmation of successful completion from the board of examiners.
