Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen within HMP Stoke Heath Prison for a fixed term position until end March 2024. The successful candidate must have experience of working at Band 6 level. We require a highly motivated individual with passion for psychology therapy.
The post holder will provide high intensity cognitive behavioural interventions to clients who have a range of mild to moderate common mental health problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary.
The post holder will work with the wider Prison Health Care Team to ensure they maximise the opportunities for them to facilitate a CBT informed approach to psychosocial interventions.

HMP & YOI Stoke Heath is a Closed Category C Adult male and Young Adult site, with a small Cat D unit. Stoke Heath is a training prison and predominately takes prisoners from the North West and Wales. It also has a small remand function. On average there are 770 prisoners, most are on short sentences and have been transferred to Stoke Heath prior to their release back to the community.

Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions within the stepped care model.
Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
Use highly developed communication skills in working with people to understand their personal and often very sensitive difficulties
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with the service.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
Keep records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols using System One.
Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process
Carry out clinical audits of service performance, including service user surveys and evaluations, and help to collate and disseminate the results for feedback.
