Job description

Are you an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with a passion for delivering exceptional service? We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team at our Waste Treatment Plant in Cambridge.

Attractive Working Hours & Salary

  • Monday to Friday schedule, 5am - 3pm (1-hour break)
  • Competitive annual salary of £34,500
  • Site located at CB25 9PG
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Large Goods Vehicles to collect and deliver waste or recycled products
  • Operate a variety of vehicles, perform vehicle checks and routine maintenance
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness both inside and out
  • Conduct daily checks, report defects to the workshop, and download digital and analogue data weekly
  • Adhere to safety regulations and legislation while operating vehicles
  • Complete tasks within set timeframes and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Handle paperwork, including Duty of Care information
  • Complete daily rounds, tipping at disposal/recycling or third-party sites
  • Report customer issues, accidents, or near misses to the line manager
  • Comply with safe working methods and wear appropriate safety clothing
  • Represent a professional image to customers and other road users
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a full current and clean driving licence (essential)
  • Possesses an HGV Class 2 license (essential)
  • Demonstrates flexibility, commitment, and enthusiasm for varying duties
  • Can follow instructions and adhere to safety policies and procedures
  • Works well as part of a team, showcasing positive team working skills
  • Has experience working outdoors in all weather conditions and maintaining high service levels
  • Can handle prolonged periods of sustained physical effort
