We are excited to share our new Skills Bootcamp based at our Bedford DC! Working in partnership with SP Training to become a HGV Class 1 Driver with us.

The Role:
Our HGV Drivers deliver to our retail stores and complete trunking activities in a fleet of Scanias. You will be working as part of the transport network but also working alongside our store teams when delivering goods to ensure we deliver fantastic customer service day in and day out.
Our Hourly Rates:
- £16.50 p/h Monday to Friday
- £18.84 p/h Saturday & Sunday

These opportunities are part of the LGV Government Skills Bootcamp Scheme and includes gaining your fully funded Class 1 (Articulated) Licence.
HGV Bootcamps are free intense training courses and are designed to quickly train individuals in the skills required to drive HGV vehicles. These Bootcamps are short intense driving programs that offer you fully funded training to gain your HGV licence and make you ‘road ready’ with either a Category C (Rigid) or Category C&E (Articulated) licence. We have partnered with SP Training, a national HGV Training Provider who have been awarded a national training contract to deliver Skills Bootcamps.
How does it work?
If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an interview with one of our depot representatives. If you are successful at interview you will be offered a job as a driver subject to successfully passing your test. You will be contacted by the training provider SP Training who will arrange your fully funded medical and theory training and then theory test. Once you have passed theory you will be invited to 10 days of practical training and HGV test.
Are you eligible?
To be eligible you must be: aged 21 or over, have the right to work in the UK. You can be employed, self-employed or unemployed and seeking for work, and you must hold a full UK driving licence. Our partner SP Training will support you through the process to pass your theory and practical driving licence if you are successful.
