Job description
Pawson Transport are a family run business based near Rotherham. Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit HGV class 1 drivers working various shifts to include a 4 on 4 off shift and day shifts and night drivers. This is a great opportunity for newly qualified drivers and experienced drivers alike to obtain regular work
Some nights out are available
The ideal candidate will hold a C + E (Class 1) HGV Licence.
· Knowledge of drivers’ hours and Work Time Directive
· Knowledge of tachograph compliance
· Experience of working within a high volume customer service environment
· Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
Role Purpose
The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of goods nationwide to customer sites in a timely and professional manner, whilst keeping within relevant legislation for drivers’ hours and Working Time Directive (WTD).
Key Accountabilities
· Ensure vehicle is loaded safely and correctly
· Ensure vehicle is in a roadworthy condition and kept clean
· Delivery of loads on time and in full
· Maintain Working Time Directive (WTD) records
· Ability to work on own
· Complete any necessary paperwork as required
· Smart appearance
