Who we are:
Veteran Benefits Guide (VBG) was founded by former United States Marine, Joshua Smith. Josh was employed by the Veteran Benefits Administration (VA) as a Rating Veteran Service Representative. While working in this capacity, Josh was thoroughly trained in the VA’s Disability Compensation System. Recognizing the need to provide Veterans a better option for processing their VA disability claims, Josh set out to create a means to expedite them through the VA claim process while also obtaining the benefits Veterans deserve. Years later, VBG has successfully guided over 35,000 Veterans in submitting their VA disability claims, resulting in substantially increased compensation benefits for their disabilities that are related to active-duty service.

What we're looking for:
Veteran Benefits Guide IT Help Desk specialist will provide technical support to members of our organization and to our clients. The successful candidate must have a detailed understanding of how to facilitate technical inquiries, provide an exceptional customer service experience, and be passionate about technology.

Basic Function/Responsibilities:
Resolve equipment / technical issues through Employee-initiated through:
  • Work tickets
  • Phone calls
  • In-person contact
    Follow up on outstanding requests, record actions taken and ensure timely resolution of work tickets.
  • Installation, removal, and repair of approved Software, Printer Drivers and Utilities in our environment, and design of forward-looking solutions.
  • Lead configuration and troubleshooting of Outlook 365 Email Clients & other essential office applications.
  • Sync cloud-based data to local devices from cloud-based software solutions.
  • Work well within a team, demonstrate attention to detail and display a sense of urgency and responsibility to the clients and users we serve on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and take direction from or consult with IT management when needed.
  • Ability to execute small and medium projects independently and report results.

Required Experience:
  • Windows 10 Enterprise
  • Office 365 suite
  • SoftPhone Applications (Ring Central)
  • CRM Exposure
  • Scripting or basic Software Development
  • Windows PC hardware & peripheral accessories, Printers & select Mobile devices (iOS, Android)
  • Experience producing technical and IT operations documentation
  • Hardware & Software Troubleshooting
  • Basic Network connectivity and remediation during error-states
  • Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users. ELI5 – proof of understanding through the simplicity of explanation
  • Understanding HIPAA compliance & US data protection standards
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills, customer service skills, computer software skills and online information research

Education:
  • Technical or college degree (Preferred)
  • Technical support: 2 years (Preferred)
