We are recruiting on behalf of an IT Managed Service Provider where you will be based in Felpham, Bognor Regis and gain valuable experience as a Level 3 Information Communications Technician, following the Support Technician pathway. We pride ourselves on the support we give our apprentices, you won’t be left on your own to figure things out, we will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey together with your employer!

CTS are looking for a IT Helpdesk Engineer Apprentice based on a client site to work in a hybrid role at their service center and from home.

What you will be doing:

An Information Communications Technician (ICT) provides support to internal and/or external customers, by using tools or systems to problem solve and trouble-shoot routine and non-routine problems. This occupation supports clients/customers with their systems. They achieve this through monitoring and maintaining the systems and/or platforms to maximise productivity and user experience.


ICT Support Service on-site

  • Under the guidance of the Network Manager: Provide specialist ICT support that ensures the school/centre establishes and maintains high quality learning facilities.
  • Using the experience gained as part of the training courses included with this role, share this with your peers within the organisation and to support school/centre’s staff & pupils ICT requirements.
  • Maintenance of specialist equipment, check for quality/safety, undertake specialist repairs/modifications within own capabilities and arrange for other repairs/modifications to be carried out by others.
  • Demonstrate and assist in the safe and effective use of specialist equipment/materials.
  • Implement agreed work programmes/practices under the guidance of Senior Staff.
  • Monitor and manage stock within an agreed budget, cataloguing resources and undertaking audits as required.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • To be aware of the school/centre’s responsibilities under the Data Protection Act 1984 for the security, accuracy and relevance of personal


Technical Expertise

  • Connect up and check hardware for normal operation.
  • Set up a suitable desktop environment for users of a standalone or networked PC.
  • Install simple software applications as required.
  • Perform basic set up and checking of networked PCs.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks for user accounts
  • Use simple utilities to change information on the internet

  • Training for all pathways of your IT career (support technician, network technician, digital communications technician)
  • Specialising in a portfolio of evidence for the Support Technician pathway
  • Access to uCertify training platform; core learning materials, assessments, and practical hands-on-labs

  • Bi-weekly virtual classroom training on the CompTIA vendor qualifications
  • Monthly work-based coaches visits and competency checks
  • Primary Goal Support desk for technical support

You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas, offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other!

As one of our apprentices you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support.

Working Week:

Monday to Friday. 08:00-16:30

Salary:
£15,000 per annum

Desired Qualifications:

We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.

Expected Duration:

15 months and 4 Months End Point Assessment
