Cunningham Swan LLP is searching for an IT Help Desk Technician (full-time, permanent).
About the Job:
This is a newer role at our growing law firm. The successful candidate will work closely with our Network Administrator to provide exceptional customer support to our lawyers and staff. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing fast, friendly, and effective Level One technical support in person, over the phone or via email/chat or self serve, by analyzing and resolving issues and supporting and educating users in the use of systems and programs.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktop hardware and peripherals, including printers and phone system.
- Assisting in the installation, set up and support of network infrastructure including installing and terminating cables, troubleshooting, and repairing damaged connections.
- Assisting with security-related updates or patches
- Maintaining backup strategies, monitoring backups, and performing testing as necessary to maximize availability and minimize failure recovery time.
- Assisting with the configuration and installation of various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN)
- Documenting and tracking technical support requests.
- Maintaining and updating IT inventory and assets.
- Adding and maintaining users in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
- Working with Intune and Azure for device management and security.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Office 365 services such as email, calendar, and SharePoint.
- Configuring and maintaining SharePoint sites and lists.
- Working with remote support and remote access tools.
About You:
We are looking for candidates with the following education, experience, and attributes:
- Completion of post-secondary education in computer technologies.
- Minimum one year experience working in a similar role working in a Windows Server Environment (2012-2019).
Technical skills required:
- Strong working knowledge of personal computers, software, email and operating systems
- Good technical knowledge of IPv4 data networking, analog and IP voice.
- Understanding of networking concepts (IP address, routers, switches, printers, Windows Active Directory).
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, with the ability and desire to learn new programs and software
- CompTIA certification, an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and be proactive
- Ability to quickly learn new procedures and software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor and commitment to service excellence.
- Must be willing to share on-call duties (includes evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays).
