Job description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Helipad Officer at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust based at the Oxford Road Campus.
The successful applicants will be appropriately qualified and have relevant experience in attending fire incidents within a Local Authority /Airport Fire Service or similar.
Supporting the Deputy Helipad Manager you will be part of the Helipad Response Team (HRT) and your main role will be to ensure that the Helipad remains operational and respond to all helicopter movements.
You will need to be self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and capable of co-ordinating and leading other members of the HRT.
Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Preparing the Helipad for operational use each day and closing down at the end of shift.
Ensuring all equipment is appropriately tested and available for use.
Leading the response to any incidents during helicopter movements.
You will undergo full training for the role prior to taking up the post.
The post is full time averaging 37.5 hours per week. The Helipad will be open daily throughout the year and your shift pattern will be a 3 on 3 off rota, 12 hours per shift.
The majority of your leave will be pre-planned to suit the needs of the Trust.
