An exciting opportunity has arisen within MKUH Practice Education Team for a Band 4 Healthcare Support Worker Education Assistant for a 12-month fixed contract.
The post holder will work alongside the HCA Practice Educator to facilitate and support the development of the Trust’s HCSW workforce by championing and co-ordinating the development of the HCSWs who are new to the Trust and the care environment.
The post holder will have extensive experience as a Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) and a passion for supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills to provide excellent patient care. This will include designing and coordinating the delivery of the Fundamentals of Care Induction programme and Development days for HCSWs and supporting the completion of Care Certificate training programme and other clinical educational programmes to support learning requirement of the HCSW role.

- To support the co-ordination, facilitation and delivery of the Fundamental of Care induction programme for HCSW or other non-registered roles.
- To work with other Practice Educators to support the delivery of other generic and bespoke training /learning activities for new and existing HCSW’s
- Work closely with relevant training leads to implement the Trust procedures as described in policies and guidelines.
- Work clinically with individuals and teams to provide effective learning opportunities.
- Support staff by promoting systems of work and maintaining high standards that contribute to safe practice.
- Support lead trainers and clinical leads in the auditing and evaluation of training sessions and learning opportunities.
- Play an active role in the storage and maintenance of training equipment and the preparation of rooms that will be used for training sessions.
- To support the Practice Education team in completing and maintaining central registers of all candidates enrolled on the Care Certificate programme. Also, ensure candidates progress from appointment and progression on the programme is monitored and tracked.
