We are looking for an enthusiasticBand 2 Healthcare Support worker to join our team at CCC-L Ward 3. The ward is a busy 32 single side room, 7-day inpatient ward. On Ward 3 we care for patients who are receiving systemic anti-cancer treatments and radiotherapy treatment that require an inpatient admission. The ward also specialises in the care of head and neck cancer patients. The ward cares for patients requiring admission for both treatment and side effects of systemic anti-cancer treatments and/or radiotherapy and symptom management. Patients requiring artificial airway management are also nursed on the ward. Health Care Support Worker - part time and full time position available An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to work alongside registered nurses to provide the highest possible standard of care for patients and families. We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individuals to undertake this new role and be willing to commit to further learning and development. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse the post is responsible for assisting in the nursing care of patients including: 2. Assisting the patient with eating and drinking 3. Assisting the patient with bathing toileting and dressing 4. Assisting the patient with catheter and stoma care 5. Performing, recording and reporting base line observations e.g. Temperature, pulse, blood pressure, routine urine testing. 6. Escorting patients/relatives 7. Weighing and measuring patients 8. Receiving and directing patients and visitors 9. Responding to telephone enquiries and taking messages 10. In the absence of the ward clerk: filing, form filling, photocopying 11. Stock monitoring 12. Unpacking and storing ward supplies 13. Disposing of ward waste appropriately 14. Cleaning and storage of ward equipment
