Job description
The Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Local Health Board’sClinical Engineering Department delivers medical equipment management services throughout the Health Board.
The department provides a broad range of complex, routine and non-routine activities including planned preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, safety testing, quality assurance, evaluation, commissioning, decommissioning, of medical equipment.
We currently have a vacancy for a Band 3 Healthcare Science Practitioner / Clinical Technologist. The successful candidate will become part of a team, specialised in servicing, maintaining and managing a range of medical equipment based in Princess of Wales Hospital, (although the post-holder will be expected to carry out his/her duties across the Health Board as necessary).
The post holder will be expected to assist other technologists in the daily activities listed in the job overview above and be able to work with and without supervision on a limited range of medical devices. Activities such as acceptance testing, electrical safety testing and planned routine maintenance of a limited range of basic electro-mechanical medical equipment to include flow-meters, gas regulators, suction units and CPAPS will be expected.
Candidates should have an interest in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering and possess the relevant practical skills and ability to use hand tools and specialised test equipment to perform routine maintenance.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
