We are looking for a part-time (32 hours per week) Healthcare Assistant to join our Wadhurst Medical Group team, to provide a specialist resource for patients within our practice in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.


Job responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking phlebotomy and sending to the laboratory
  • Accurately measuring blood pressure with manual or automatic machines
  • Measuring temperature, pulse, peripheral oxygen levels, height, weight and BMI, and recording patients health status (smoking, alcohol and activity levels)
  • Checking and sending urine samples to the laboratory as needed and reporting to the GP for review as needed
  • Removing sutures and clips, and undertaking wound management, as appropriate to training, experience and competency
  • Administering injections and immunisations, including taking part in the surgeries annual flu vaccination programme
  • Undertaking NHS Health Checks
  • Assisting GPs in minor surgery, coil and implant clinics
  • The management of clinical stock levels, including stocking clinical rooms and trolleys, rotation and ordering
  • Taking responsibility, as a member of the nursing team, for checking fridge temperatures daily and weekly to ensure the cold chain is maintained, and for reporting any cold chain breaches
  • Attending and participating in nurse and practice meetings
  • Ensuring all mandatory training is up to date
